They told me, “leave him alone”
But I was con-vinced he was my home,
So I let him be, sin for which I atoned,
Flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone,
The weeds, ugly sushi and the seed,
I carried it,
He was the always the one to bury it,
But I had quite liked the sound of his last name between my teeth,
There are paths you run from and some towards, all that could ever be,
we were both wise and foolish,
children birthed us,
now we stand at the apex,
all I feel is perplexed, as to why we met,
and I can’t forget, the entire thing,
every fork followed, every splintered feeling,
every diamond ring,
I have walked a million roads with you, steady and shaken,
Simultaneous infinite universes unwalked, untaken
In the end I think I always kind of knew,
It would be me who was the one to say goodbye to you
